The key to safe wood burning in any home is a proper flue liner. The highest quality and longest lasting is a cast-in-place masonry liner. Our poured flue lining system is a unique chimney lining process ideally suited to reline and restore old, damaged, or worn out chimney flues.
Charlie Allen Renovations routinely restores and recreates original masonry fireplace and chimney details using water struck brick and lime mortar. We also remove, clean, and reinstall marble mantels after fabricating code compliant Rumford fireboxes and hearth extensions.
If you’d prefer the convenience of gas to wood burning we work with several different suppliers to offer aesthetically appropriate gas fireplace inserts and gas log options.
Our work has been featured on several This Old House projects:
The Carlisle Project 2004
The Winchester House 2002
The Manchester House 2001
The Charlestown House 2000
The Watertown House 1998
